What began with one giraffe in 1961 has grown into one of the most recognisable baby brands in the world. Sophie la girafe was created in France at a time when baby toys were mostly limited to farm animals and traditional figures. Her unusual shape, soft natural rubber and easy-to-grip design made her an instant favourite with both babies and parents.

More than sixty years later, Sophie la girafe remains at the centre of the brand, but the collection has expanded to include teethers, bath toys, gift sets, comforters, feeding products and early learning toys. Across the range, the focus stays much the same: simple products that are easy for babies to hold and soothing to use.

Many Sophie la girafe products are still made in France, including the original teether, which continues to be produced using traditional methods and 100% natural rubber from the Hevea tree. The brand has managed to keep its nostalgic feel while growing into something much bigger, with products that still feel familiar to generations of parents.
