Description

The Wean Machine - The mother of all inventions. Now you can prepare fresh and healthy baby food wherever you are.

The Wean Machine is a tidy and new, innovative solution to the problem of preparing small and nutritious portions of food for baby, when weaning.

The Wean Machine, from Jackson Beazeley Limited, helps prepare food for baby wherever they are. Itpurees anything from a banana or an avocado to pasta and potato, without the bulk and noise of ablender or the mess of using a fork.

Simply fill the bowl, squeeze the handles together to puree the food and spoon‐feed baby direct from The Wean Machine. Ideal for use with foods including soft fruits, cooked vegetables and pasta dishes, the interchangeable small and large grills produce different consistencies for each stage of weaning allowing you total control of what food you introduce to your baby and when. Dishwasher safe, it pulls apart for easy cleaning and fits in all leading sterilizers.

The Wean Machine is the brainchild of Tilly Beazeley, a mother, who discovered that there was nocompact piece of equipment that could make nutritious baby food in or out of the home.“I wanted to prepare healthy family food to feed my baby” commented Tilly Beazeley, the inventor of The Wean Machine. “This presented the dilemma of how to physically prepare such small amounts and still fulfil the sterilization requirements. I always seemed to end up with piles of washing up and pans of boiling metal utensils – all for two or three tablespoons of food. Then I had my ‘WHAT IF’moment……!”

Used at home or when visiting friends and family, in cafes and restaurants, days out, in the park or at the beach, baby can eat fresh food direct from a plate and have a balanced meal.

The Wean Machine contains no Bisphenol‐A, Phthalates (BPA) or PVC and complies with all relevantsafety requirements giving you peace of mind, it also contains SteriTouch an antibacterial to keep it clean for longer.

Guidelines

First Use

Before using your Wean Machine for the first time, clean it in a dishwasher (top rack only) or in warm water using liquid detergent. Rinse thoroughly with clean cold water. Don not clean your Wean Machine or allow it to come into contact with solvents or other harsh chemicals as damage may result.

Sterilising

The Wean Machine can be sterilised using any method recommended for sterilising baby food equipment except for Microwave sterilisers.

Food Hygiene

It is essential to follow the guidelines laid down by the Department of Health when preparing food for your baby.

First foods

Giving your baby his/her first taste of a particular food is one of the great pleasures of parenthood. Watching their faces light up in a smile (or screw up in disgust) at a new flavour is fun and rewarding. With your Wean Machine you will find it easier than ever to experiment – creating small quantities of fresh food with the minimum of fuss.

Please follow Department of Health’s weaning recommendations on when and how to introduce solids and always remember to follow food hygiene rules. Every baby is different, and if there are allergies within your family, please consult your doctor or health visitor.

Remember your baby is new to the sensation of having solids, and their digestive system is still maturing.  If the food doesn’t squidge easily, it probably won’t digest easily. Encourage lumps and chewing – it develops the muscles which are required for speech.

Features

We’ve had a lot of fun playing with our Wean Machines, made lots of Guacamole for ourselves, and come up with a ‘Squidgometer’ of foods you could try preparing for your baby – it’s not an exhaustive list, just a starting point. With time, you, your baby and your Wean Machine will doubtless enjoy endless food experiments.

For best results, use your Wean Machine with ripe or well cooked foods.

Foods to Avoid
Food trends change frequently and science is evolving from day to day.Current recommendations of foods to avoid with your baby include;
Salt
It is important not to add salt. If you are preparing food for the family, season once served; it’s a good habit to get into as too much salt isn’t good for any member of the family.
Sugar
Sugar should not be encouraged as it can develop a desire for only sweet foods. In the future, this may lead to tooth decay and bad eating habits. There are so many naturally sweet foods than can be combined to get baby eating and exploring taste and texture that you’ll find you wont need it anyway.
Honey
Honey should be avoided until your baby is one year old; due to a rare bacteria that can lead to infant botulism.
Nuts & Peanuts
Unless otherwise instructed by your Doctor or Health Visitor, it is not recommended to feed nuts and peanuts to children less than five years of age due to the risk of choking.
Low Fat Foods
Low fat foots including Fromage Frais, Yoghurt or Cheese are not suitable for babies under the age of two; they do not provide the calories and some of the Vitamins that your baby needs.
Raw Eggs and raw shellfish -
Raw eggs and shellfish may contain harmful bacteria such as Salmonella; the risk of food poisoning from these foods is too great for babies

Plus -

·          Hard objects placed inside the bowl will damage your Wean Machine.
·          Always check the temperature of food before feeding your baby.
·          Never leave your baby unattended when feeding.
·          The Wean Machine is not a toy and should not be handed to your baby to play with.
