Having expected a quiet August we've been completely taken by surprise and having a very busy month indeed. All up to speed but no lazy afternoons in the sun for our warehouse staff this year!

some updates on our brands: -

Close Parent have introduced their latest version of the Close Parent Sling - Caboo . We have phased out and now sold all the original close parent carriers and stock only the Caboo.  A superb sling made from 100% organic cotton. We think the best cloth sling carrier on the market today.

Stokke have now discontinued the Blue and Pink Tripp Trapp as well as the Pink Dots and Tales Green colours from the textiles range.  A few of the last remaining items in stock from these discontinued products can be had at a bargain in our discontinued/sale section.

We've expanded our range of the wonderful Home Scents Eco household range.  All of us at Bebeco use their products in our own homes and can vouch for their effectiveness and value for money.  Cleaning your house with natural cleaning products is not only obviously great for the environment but also leaves your home feeling fresh naturally.  Once you've eliminated the smell of false fragrances you can really tell the difference and your nose will hate to be around artificial cleaning agents ever again.  Your body knows best!

We are so pleased to see the return of our Earlybirds premature clothing range.  Whilst organic cotton is a must for all babies, we feel that especially small and vulnerable babies will benefit hugely from having the softest, chemical free clothing against their skin.  We have up until now only sold this range in our Corsham shop but are happy to let you know that the range can now be purchased from us online.  As is the case in store we give 5% of the profits from this range to the NICU unit at Bath RUH.

21st July

We are very happy to see the new stocks of the Green Baby range both in store and in warehouse. Available to buy now. Green Baby do skincare, clothing and a fantastic range of accessories. Chemical Free and organic - best for baby. We've also introduced a few additional extras in the nappy accessories section, have a browse to get up to date on our new items.

It's annual stock take time again,  Warehouse will be deferring dispatches for two weeks on Thursday 18th and reopening on Friday 3rd June.  Of course as always we will be offering a fab discount  if you are happy to wait for your order.  Orders received up to 17th May are being shipped as normal and customer services will be operating as normal throughout.  If you are local to our shop and simply can't wait that long, please do pop by for any items you might need.

On a more exciting note, we can't wait for the new Sleepi products from Stokke.  After a very successful trial we will shortly be uploading that newest, widest range from Stokke yet. You will be able to buy the Stokke in separate stages  -  From June the mini can be purchased as a standalone unit and separately by a cot extension kit should you then wish to extend the bed at a later stage . A great way to spread out the cost. And of course, the much anticipated brand new product - Stokke Bounce n sleep will be here too. email us if you would like to be notified when these ranges are available to buy.

We are very pleased to be able to introduce our new range of skincare for kids from Naturally Cool Kids. Their moto is No mess, No Fuss, Just fun and of course the entire range is completely free from chemicals. Created after the company realised that although you can buy everyday children's skincare there was very little choice when it came to buying all-natural sun protection and cold care products for children.

It's a fab new children's summer and winter skincare and skincare protection bridging the gap for parents that don't want to compromise their children's skincare routine when on holiday or through the winter months. All the products are kind to the environment, made wholly in the UK and that packaging is so cool, even children choose to use it, and they love it!  With no chemicals, parabens or Lauryl sulphate the range uses only natural and organic ingredients to protect and moisturise young skin in the summer and soothe and protect from the symptoms of colds in the winter. A fun and effective alternative.

5th April

Yet again Stokke have managed delight us with the recent announcements of new product launches. Bebeco is one of the few selected Stokke retailers authorised to sell the Limited Edition Xplory colours and accessories - in fabulous pink and a fresh spring green.  All the products are now available to purchase from us online or in store.  We also think the two new additions to the Stokke Tripp Trapprange - American Walnut and European Oak - The exclusive wood collection will become sought after furniture pieces for the home. Well done Stokke on another perfect launch of what we can only describe are pure design genius.

3rd March

Well the Bumgenius V4 is proving to be every bit the success we suspected it would be.  Word has got around pretty fast across the forums and particularily on cloth nappy related forums about the improvements Bumgenius have made to this much loved nappy. We agree and think that the tried and tested reliability of the V4 will keep it at it's number 1 best selling position.

This month we have introduced a lovely range of Organic clothing by under The Nile.  Affordable and well designed, we are very happy to introduce this brand to our customers.

Another new product range is from Burt's Bees - highly rated as a high performance range of skincare, the baby range is now available both online and in our shop.

2011 is set to be a very interesting year in the world of nursery products, there are many new innovations and we are noticing that manufacturers are beginning to at long last respond  to parents demands for higher quality , durable designs to suit today's busy household. We believe that the furniture and accessories designed and manufactured by Stokke® is set to meet these emerging demands.  Stokke® have long held to firm principles of quality, function and practicality. Furniture that can be used from birth and then for many many years as a separate function to that it was originally purchased is a sound investment. 

7th February

Well we have been very busy bees over the Christmas and New Year season so apologies for neglecting this news section, we certainly have a lot to bring you all up to speed on.  The most exciting news is the Bebeco has been appointed Sole UK distributor for Babisil. Babisil manufacture high qaulity and extremely innovative products for Baby Feeding and Weaning.  We know the Mu Munch Feeding range will simply fly out of the door.  The initial range of purple has now expanded to include 3 new fab colours, green, orange and blue.  The full and complete range will be sold to retail customers direct through our sister site www.bpa-freebaby.co.uk and all trade enquiries can be directed to us at trade@bebeco.co.uk.

Other great new products include the full and complete nursery collection from Bloom, extended range from Little Green Sheep and we now have a bigger Natural Baby Skincare section - Burts Bees and Beaming Baby are a couple of our newly stocked brands.  We are waiting on stock from the highly recommended Aden and Anais Brand of muslin wraps - we know you will simply love those - should be in stock by end of Feb!.

All the Bumgenius Nappy colours are now in and we are lucky enough to have got shipment of both the Popper and Velcro Versions.  We think the new colours are great and we hold good stock of these, so if you are looking for a full time kit, you have a great selection to choose from.

Other product news, include Beaming Baby's newly announced Biodegradable nappies - we love the simple packaging and great price point so our customers can stock up on environmentally friendly biodegradable nappies without breaking the bank.

The Miyo Hammock is already proving to be a great hit - It's sleek design and fantastic benefits to baby is fast making this Baby Hammock a very popular choice for new parents.

Our Great Winter Clearance sale is now on - with so much discounted stock to choose from, you should bag yourself a bargain before we are cleared out.  This year our Winter sale is bigger then ever and we have quite a bit from very popular lines such as Natures Purest, Frugi, Amby and Piccalilly. We also have a fair few toys from Wonderland with up to 50% off RRP so if you are on a budget this Christmas this is your chance to buy a high quality gift made from solid replenshible woods.

With Christmas only round the corner, we know that friends and family are going to want to snap up the newly released Tripp Trapp Newborn sets as a great present for new parents.  with half our stock already sold on pre order, the Newborn sets are now in stock and available for immediate dispatch.

Who was to know that Bumgenius would manage to keep secret it's latest designs before being released to an eager audience.  Just launched a set of five different designs that will inveitably become collectibles.  Since the launch of Bumgenius V4 it;s been tough to keep up with demand and we just know this limited edition will sell out.

8th October

We are pretty pleased with ourselves for having sourced some fab new products for winter.  Lambskin is well known for it's properties in helping to keep baby warm in winter.  Not only is lambskin warm and comforting, but supersoft and cosy for baby.  Lambskin products are becoming more and in demand as people discover the many benefits. We think we've got one of the highest quality range of lambskin booties, hats and mittens available.

Bornfree have  just launched their latest products for the Bornfree BPA free feeding and teething range. The latest products includes teething rings, straw cups and milk powder containers.  Known for their high quality anti colic BPA free plastic and glass feeding bottles we are sure these new additions will become every bit as popular. Now fully in stock.   Out of stock for a period the soothers are available again but updated with great new designs and colours

It's been a hectic time and we are looking forward to the Spring and Summer season.  Our BPA Free Feeding Section is as always very popular.  Bebeco was one of the first companies to identify concerns with BPA and have only ever supplied BPA free products.  Nothing on our site contains BPA so you can shop with confidence.

The Tripp Tripp Highchair is fast becoming the best selling product in it's category for us.  With some fantastic new trend colours, the Tripp Trapp is bang up to date. The sleek design and child centric focus makes this a must have in every family home.

We are also delighted this month to welcome a new collection from Earlybirds. An Australian company specialising in premature babywear.  The Earlybirds organic premature baby range will only be available to purchase from the shop, and not online.

You will see we have been very busy in early 2010 bringing in many new brands. (Particularily Earth Mama Angel Baby, Noonoo, Natures Purest the oh so gorgeous OIOI changing bags) The Natural & Organic market is fast growing and we are so pleased to see an ever wider choice available. We continue to look for and source modern, value for money products that are earth friendly, natural, organic and fairly traded.  These are the principles upon which Bebeco is founded and this year it is very exciting to see so much on offer.

The sale has proved very popular, we still have a few items left that are going at great prices, so it would be worth taking a look.  We are looking forward to spring - we know many of our suppliers have great things lined up and we can't wait to get them. We have made some big changes at Bebeco. Mainly the number of products we are now able to offer you.  We are happy to welcome some great new items, in particular a fantastic range of highchairs.

The biggest chanrge though has been that for the last year we have looked in great detail to the merits of continuing to offer such a wide range of nappies. In response to our research we have decided to take the choice down to Bumgenius and Close Parent.  We made this decision after realising the the new generation nappies such as these are so good that maintaining such a large choice only went to confuse those of our customers who needed to make easy choices. We hope you agree.  We will of course be continuing with our excellent and wide range of nappy accessories.

Well it is finally here, our fantastic new Nursery Collection from Stokke.  We have been working behind the scenes for a few months to bring you what we consider to be the best choice in Cots, Changing Tables, highchairs, Strollers and Nursery storage you can buy. Warehouse are now receiving stocks of the Stokke Xplory, Stokke Keep, Stokke Care and Tripp Trapp.  We completely believe in the concepts brought to reality by Stokke Design and each piece created by them offers total functionality, practicality and all the high standards you would expect from a manufacturer of this calibre

Stokke is our most exciting range yet.  As an approved stockist, we now hold the entire range from Stokke and also have display models in the shop for our local customer to come and view.  Our staff are fully trained on all the products so if you would like further information or just want to come and see what all the fudd is about, we'd be delighted to see you.

We are delighted to welcome back the Botty Buddy. This product has been unavailable for some time as the manufacturer looked to source a new UK distributor, one has now been appointed and we are able to once again supply this great changing mat.  It is PVC free and comes with the play mobile to distract your baby whilst changing nappies.

We are now well into summer but our thoughts are already turning to our Winter Collections.  We are delighted to see the Stella James will be expanding there gorgeous range of hand knitted organic clothing and that Frugi's new collection is as scrummy as ever.  Here at Bebeco we are really excited about the return of the Nature's purest range.  They make beautiful gifts too and come ready gift boxed so you don't have to worry about a thing.

It's great to see all our Summer lines proving so popular.  Organics for Kids collection is as ever one of our best selling brands.  Our new ranges now include Little Green Sheep, Swaddlemee Organic Swadlling Blankets and we aew now stocking an increasing range from the The Organic Baby Company.  There lovely sleeping bags come highly recommended.

Many new products have been finding their way into our range.  We are mostly excited about the gorgeous new moses baskets and love the idea of the baby pouches. Made from pure organic cotton both of these items are sure to become must haves.

Wow, it's happened at last.  After weeks of refitting, getting in new stock and sorting out the logisitics our new shop in Corsham is open.  We have been delighted with the welcome that people have given us in the town and look forward to serving both the local community and our lovely Bebeco customers from further afield.

This has been a very busy weekend for us following the BBC News story about BPA in baby bottles.  Bebeco has only ever sold BPA free products as we have known about this issue for a long time.  Our range of bornfree products was recently voted best baby bottle in the Daily Mail health supplement.   We are fully stocked up and staffed up so despite the volume we are dealing with, orders for bornfree bottles will go out immediately.

We have yet more new products for you.  We are particularily delighted to bring you the Becopotty. An eco friendly potty made from waste plant materials. Those wonderful people from piccalilly are able to supply us once more with their gorgeous organic poncho bathrobe.  Now also available in blue/green spots for boys.

The most exciting new yet is that we are due to open a shop in Corsham High Street. Eveything is almost complete and it should be open on 5th April.  We will keep you posted.

Environment Agency report reveals cloth nappies can save 40% carbon emissions
Washable nappies can save 40% carbon emissions over disposables an Environment Agency study published today reveals.

An Updated Lifecycle Assessment Study for Disposable and Reusable Nappies examines the environmental impacts of the two systems. While at first glance the report suggests there may be little to choose between them, it shows how a good washing routine can make all the difference. Simply washing nappies in fuller loads in an energy efficient machine and line drying them provides over 40% reduction in carbon. Reusing nappies on a second child saves even more.

Biba Hartigan of Women's Environmental Network (WEN) says: "At last, this report supports what WEN has been stating for decades - real nappies are best for the environment with 40% carbon savings to be made over disposables. It's easy to make a difference with a sensible washing routine. It's just common sense. And parents can save money with real nappies too."

The difference between the systems could be even greater. Some key assumptions in the report are questionable. It is assumed that people use more washable nappies than disposables. WEN research based on larger, statistically sound samples has found that there is no difference in the number of nappies used.

Unlike the simple washing routine which anyone can adopt now, improvements posed for the disposables system are not currently available. Further weight reduction requires technological development and widespread MBT recycling is a long way off.

WEN is concerned that the Environment Agency and Defra have chosen not to publicise these findings. One day they make a commitment to reduce carbon emissions by 80% by 2050 and the next they miss an opportunity to promote information which could help every young family in the country achieve a 40%+ carbon saving on nappies.

The six manufacturers say they are reacting to consumer demand by removing Bisphenol A (BPA) from their bottles.  But they will continue selling bottles containing BPA in the UK, a decision which has angered campaigners.  The Food Standards Agency insists BPA in UK plastic products is "well below the levels considered harmful".  The chemical is widely used in plastic manufacture and is commonly found in food and drink containers.
