About Hemp

Our hemp nappies are made from CERTIFIED ORGANIC  hemp/organic cotton fleece fabric.   Hemp fabric has antibacterial and antifungal properties, which inhibits the growth of mould or mildew whilst also helping to keep baby's skin rash free, making hemp the preferred fabric for babies with sensitive skin. Hemp also requires no chemicals to grow. None of the fibres of the fabric have been exposed to herbicides, pesticides or fungicides. Hemp also requires less water to grow than cotton, so it is friendlier to our environment and less taxing on our Earth's natural resources. Hemp is 10 times stronger than cotton, making it more durable. You will also find that your hemp nappies will become softer with the more use they get.  Hemp is far more absorbent than cotton, therefore the nappies require less layers, making them a trimmer option.

Another supremely environmentally friendly fabric choice for your baby's nappy.  Our bamboo nappies are made from 70% Bamboo Fleece fabric and 30% organic cotton.  Like hemp, it is naturally antimicrobial and antifungal whilst also offering superior absorbancy when compared to a cotton alternative.  It requires minimal water for growth, and with such a short cultivation cycle, the bamboo fibre is naturally renewable.  The fibres used to make Baby Beehinds have been grown on special bamboo farms- this means that no wild bamboo resources have been consumed.   Absolutely no pesticides or fungicides or herbicides are required for growing bamboo.
